I know it may not look it, but I promise I have eaten more this week than just cake!
I finally managed to get down to my local Asda during the week and for the most part it was pretty disappointing. They have barely any of their own vegan products, and the named-brand vegan products were very lacking too. Or if they were there, I could not find them…and trust me, I tried!
However I did stumble across these little bad boys and decided to give them a go.

They are alright. They taste like sugar. They were nice and had a nice fluffy texture that you’d expect from cupcakes but I didn’t get much chocolate from them. The vegan marshmallow on top however was very nice – it has been so long since I had a marshmallow I almost forgot how yummy they are! The icing is buttercream, so it is pretty sickly, but they’ve actually got a pretty good ratio of cupcake to icing so it doesn’t send you directly into sugar shock.

The only downside is that they are a little bit dry, so definitely need a drink to help wash it down. But other than that these are quite nice. Unfortunately for me my local Asda is actually quite far out of the way for me, so is a trek to get to. So while these were nice, I don’t think I’d go out of my way to buy these. If I wanted vegan cupcakes, it honestly would be easier for me to just make my own.
