As I have said in previous posts, I am not a big make up person. However it is something I would like to get to know a bit more about and one of my favourite things to do is to watch people doing make up tutorials. I have no intention of wearing half of the looks I see, but I like to see the creativity and the artistry that make up can provide to a person.
On a day to day basis I only really wear 2 things: Foundation and mascara. Everything else is considered ‘extra’ and, in my head, I am ;fully done up’. At the moment I am wearing BarryM Lash Vegas mascara. I am a big fan of BarryM: They have some beautiful colour options for nail polish and eye shadows, and everything that is vegan friendly is clearly labelled, affordable and it is also a brand that is easy to find on the high street.
I only ever wear black mascara. As I have said before, the industry I work in is not one for self expression and so make up must always be natural and subtle. I have also found that if I do wear coloured mascara (such as for fancy dress) the colour always ends up looking black anyway. So…I just stick to black.
This stuff is really good. It goes on super smoothly and doesn’t clump. That being said, I am now starting to run out of this and so it is coming out really clumpy and doesn’t coat my eyelashes as smoothly. Obviously with lockdown in place I am not likely to be able to buy a new stick anytime soon, but I have found a neat trick to help: When doing my make up, I put my mascara between my legs or under my knee so that it warms up and the mascara is a bit looser in the container. I have found that it makes the mascara like new, even though I am truly scraping the bottom of the tube now!
I usually wear mascara every day so I find that I seem to go through a tube of mascara every few months. The Lash Vegas however seems to be lasting me for about 5 months, although granted for two of those months I haven’t been using it every day. My only complaint is that it seems to take ages to dry, so when I try to curl my lashes, if I don’t give it enough time I do end up gluing my eyelashes to my curler. And we all know how much that sucks!
